Yuri Vyacheslavovich Afonin ( Russian: Юрий Вячеславович Афонин ; born March 22, 1977 in Tula ) is a Russian politician ( CPdRF ) and has been a member of the Duma of the Russian Federation since 2007 .

Life

education

Afonin graduated from the History Faculty of Tula University in 1999 . Seven years later (2006) he graduated from the Russian Academy of Economics and Public Service under the President of the Russian Federation with a specialization in law.

Professional career

After completing his studies, he worked as a specialist in economics for the city and the Shchokino district in Tula Oblast . With the beginning of his full-time activity as a politician in 2000 this position ended.

Political activity

As a student, he campaigned on the side of the communist movement in the Russian Federation. He was involved in the re-establishment of the oblast organization (roughly equivalent to a state or district organization) Tula des Komsomol (youth organization of the CPSRF) and joined the CPSRF in 1998 . In 2000 he became a member of the Tula Oblast Duma. In the elections for this he defeated various regionally known businessmen and industrialists at the age of only 23. In 2004 he was re-elected and was promoted to chairman of the parliamentary group of the KPdRF and also became deputy chairman of the committee for science, education, culture, youth policy as well as popular and professional sport. In 2007 he was elected to the state Duma of the Russian Federation, the Russian supreme parliament, as a candidate of the CPSRF via their list for the Republic of Bashkortostan . There he first worked in the committee (committee) for questions of youth policy. In 2011 he was re-elected as one of the candidates on the CPSF's federal list. After this election he took over the deputy chairmanship of the committee for questions of amateur and professional sport and youth policy. In 2016 he was re-elected to the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the CPSRF's nationwide list, but became the first deputy chairman of the Committee on Natural Resources, Property and Rural Life. In addition to these political functions at the state and regional level, in 2004 he was a member of the Central Committee (ZK) of the CPdRF and secretary of the Central Committee for Youth Issues. From 2004 to 2013 he was chairman of the Komsomol. Since 2013 he has been a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the CPDRF, and since 2017 he has also been one of the deputy chairman of the CPDRF, GA Zyuganov .

Private life

Afonin is married and has one son.
