The Stepas Žukas technical center for applied arts Kaunas (also Kaunas Higher Art School , lit. Kauno aukštesnioji meno mokykla ) was a high school (1989-2001) and a technical center (1951-1989) in Kaunas , Lithuania .

history

In 1922 the first Lithuanian art school was established instead of drawing courses. The founder and first director was artist Justinas Vienožinskis . In 1939 the school became a college . In 1951 the School of Applied Arts , which later got the name of Stepas Žukas and became the technical center, which in 1989 became the Kaunas Higher Art School.

On August 24, 2001, the school was integrated into the Kaunas College . The school became the Justinas Vienožinskis Art Faculty of the Kaunas College (lit. Kauno kolegijos Justino Vienožinskio menų fakultetas ), a faculty for art . The high school was closed on September 1, 2001.
