Justine Shapiro

Justine Shapiro (born March 20, 1963 as Justine Arlin in South Africa ) is an American film producer , film director in the field of documentary films and former film actress .

Career

Justine Shapiro was born in South Africa and grew up in Berkeley , California . She graduated from Tufts University . Shapiros film career began in 1988 as a film actress, doing an episode in the television series Floodtide . Other positions in front of the camera followed, such as Deadly Intrigues , A Case for the Murderer and Are you going to Hollywood? . She made her directorial debut with the film Hate and Hope - Children in the Middle East Conflict, for which she received an Oscar nomination in the category of best documentary film at the 2002 Academy Awards . The film received awards at several film festivals. In addition to directing her film Our Summer in Tehran , she was also responsible as a producer.
