Jutta from the Alps

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jutta von Alpen (born June 26, 1921 in the German Reich ; † after 1953 ) was a German stage and film actress and a pianist .

Live and act

Little is known about Jutta von Alpen, whose artistic work can only be documented for a decade, in the 1940s. Apparently she received her artistic training on the eve of the Second World War and was brought in front of the camera for the first time in 1940 with the little part of a page in a fairy tale film. Until shortly before the end of the war in 1945, she only appeared in five other films, including as the daughter of Zarah Leander in her last German production at that time . There are no permanent theater engagements, despite their name being mentioned in the registers of the German Stage Yearbooks.

In 1945 Jutta von Alpen obviously gave up acting completely and remembered her second talent: playing the piano. As Der Spiegel reported in an issue from 1949, the artist gave numerous concerts as part of tours through the western zones. In the same article one could read of an alleged interest of an Indian film producer who wanted to engage her for the film adaptations of "modern (n) European (n) themes". Obviously this project failed because no further film with von Alpen can be proven. According to the register of the Deutsche Bühnen-Jahrbücher, Jutta von Alpen resided in Rotenburg Castle until 1953 - it was precisely during this period that the building was used as an emergency shelter for refugee families before it became state property. Whether this is related to von Alpen's disappearance from the public eye in 1953 cannot be clarified today.
