Juuso Pykälistö (born May 21, 1975 in Padasjoki ) is a Finnish rally driver . He drove in the World Rally Championship from 1996 to 2005 .

Career

Pykälistö began his motorsport career in enduro racing and switched to rallying in 1994 . In 1996 he took part in the World Rally Championship (WRC) for the first time with an Opel Astra GSi 16V at the Rally Finland . In 1997 he switched to Mitsubishi and took part in individual WRC rallies. During this time Pykälistö was runner-up in Group N of the Finnish Rally Championship three times (1996, 1998 and 2000) and was also runner-up in Group N of the Swedish Rally Championship in 2000.

In 2001 the Finn switched to Subaru and then to Toyota during the season . In 2002 Pykälistö won the Arctic Rally in a Toyota Corolla WRC . In the following years he changed cars several times and started on Peugeot , Mitsubishi, Toyota, Citroën , Ford and Subaru. In 2005 he again won the Arctic Rally with a Ford Focus WRC and in a Citroën Xsara WRC he scored his first and so far only point in the WRC in eighth place in the Rally Italy .

Pykälistö, who took part in a total of 25 WRC rallies, has not started any WRC rallies since 2006.
