Juvenalis of Benevento

Juvenalis († approx. 132 in Benevento ) was an early Christian martyr and saint .

Juvenalis is venerated as the patron saint of Benevento, where he is said to have been martyred under Emperor Hadrian . Little is known about his life. Sometimes he is confused with the later Bishop of Narni of the same name. The relics of the saint are in the church of Santa Sophia in Benevento; you will u. a. attributed the liberation of the city from the plague, he is also the patron saint of Fossano and namesake of the local cathedral . The saint's feast day is May 7th .
