Jyri Häkämies
Jyri Häkämies (born August 30, 1961 in Kotka ) is a Finnish minister .
Life
Häkämies was in the military and graduated with a degree in political science. Between 1989 and 1994 he worked as a spokesperson and sales manager in companies of the Sanoma Group, and was also a member of a supervisory board from time to time. Then he became chairman of a chamber of commerce . He joined the National Collection Party and was its chairman in 2006/2007.
He has been a member of parliament since 1999. From 2003 to 2006 he was also Vice President of the European People's Party . He has been a member of the Kotka City Council since 2005. In 2007 he became Minister of Defense in the Vanhanen II cabinet . Until 2011 he was minister of the Chancellery at the same time. He is currently Minister of Economic Affairs .
During his tenure, a large charging station for electric cars was launched in 2011.
He has two children with his wife.
