Károly Binder (born April 2, 1956 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian pianist and composer .

Life

Károly Binder studied piano at the Jazz Department of the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest and graduated there in 1979. He is currently head of the Music Teacher's Training Institute of the Franz Liszt Music Academy, where he is also a professor of jazz piano. In the course of his career, Binder has won several piano competitions, such as B. the international piano competition in Kalis (1981), the Grand Prix of the Hungarian Radio (1986) and the Emerton Prize as "Pianist of the Year" (1991). In 1999, Binder was one of the first Hungarians to teach a master class at the Royal Academy of Music in London .
