Károly Kovács

Károly Kovács (born March 12, 1909 in Szombathely ; † unknown) was a French football player of Hungarian origin.

Career

The Hungarian Kovács signed with Olympique Antibes in 1932 in order to play in the newly founded professional league Division 1 . However, he had to wait a year for a deployment in the top French league, as he had previously served in the Hungarian army; when he ran up in the storm of his team in the course of the season 1933/34 , he managed with 17 goals but directly among the top scorers in the league.

However, he was unable to confirm these successes the following year, nor after he moved to league rivals AS Cannes in 1936 . Kovács, who had never been nominated for the national selection of his home country, took French citizenship on March 30, 1938; He was also denied a job in the jersey of the French. In 1939 he ended his professional career.
