A cheese platter is a selection of different types of cheese that is arranged on a platter .

Cheese platters are offered as a conclusion to a meal sequence , as an independent dish or on cold buffets . The cheeses are arranged in slices, pieces, bites, chips or other attractive shapes on platters - depending on the occasion, e.g. B. rustic on wooden panels or for festive occasions on silver or pewter plates.

Almost all types of cheese are suitable, the selection should not contain less than three different types of cheese.

For the optical design, cheese platters z. B. with fruit, cheese pastries, tomatoes filled with cheese salad , pretzel pastries, pastries made from smoked mass with cheese, etc. completed. As garnish elements, for. B. cocktail cherries, olives, gherkins, pearl onions, dried fruits and various cheese creams and herbs. Fruit should be sour, as the high fat content of the cheese and the acidity of the fruit result in pleasant taste nuances when consumed.
