Cheese stick
Cheese stick denotes different types of pastry .
In general, it is a cheese dish made from puff pastry . Layers of grated parmesan and paprika powder are rolled up between layers of dough . The mass is cut into strips and twisted like a corkscrew . These parts are sprinkled with cheese and baked in the oven. There are various variants in which the filling or topping is exchanged with other foods (e.g. poppy seeds , sesame seeds or caraway seeds ). In addition to the use of cheese and puff pastry, they have in common their typical shape.
In addition, stick-shaped pastries are called cheese sticks, which are baked or gratinated with different types of cheese . These are often pretzels or baguettes made from yeast dough or pieces of shortcrust pastry .
