Käthe Günther

Käthe Günther (born January 11, 1873 in Gnötzheim / Lower Franconia ; † October 9, 1933 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber ) was a German politician ( DDP ). During the Weimar Republic she was the only woman to be a member of the presidium of the Bavarian State Parliament .

Profession and Politics

Käthe Günther was a district senior teacher.

From 1919 to 1920 Günther was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament for the German Democratic Party . She was elected on January 12, 1919 in the district of Nuremberg III. As a result, she was a member of the first state parliament in 1919. She became a member of Committee III. Election Review Committee and X. Teachers Act Committee and later the committee to discuss the draft law on the amendment of the Elementary School Teachers Act and the School Supplies Act and the Civil Service Remuneration Committee.

At the next election in 1920 Günther was confirmed in her mandate in the constituency of Nuremberg III and Middle Franconia VII. On July 15, 1920, she was the only woman until 1950 to be elected as the third secretary of the Presidium of the Bavarian State Parliament. She was on the Rules of Procedure committee. For unknown reasons, she resigned her mandate on September 29, 1920. Her successor was Hans Schnitzler .

Käthe Günther was a Protestant.
