When he was writing the children's book Koranen og profeten Muhammeds liv , he had difficulty finding an illustrator who would draw Mohammed, as reprisals from Islamist extremists were feared. The Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten responded to this situation by asking forty illustrators whether they would be willing to make caricatures of the Prophet. The resulting caricatures sparked the so-called caricature dispute . In the course of this, for example, Ali Muhi Al-Din Al-Qardaghi, a lecturer at the University of Qatar, claimed on Al-Jazeera that the author of the children's book about Mohammed was a Jew and that the book would say that the prophet Mohammed a Nazi who carried out the first holocaust.
