The Kölner Klub für Luftsport eV (KKfL) is an aviation club based at the Bonn / Hangelar airfield . It was founded in 1906 and is one of the oldest German aviation clubs.

history

The club was run in 1906 under the name "Kölner Aero-Klub"; later renamed "Cologne Club for Airship Travel" and finally "Cologne Club for Air Sports eV". The club was originally located at Cologne 's Butzweilerhof Airport , but had to move due to its closure.

While the motor flight group moved to Bonn / Hangelar, the glider flight group found its new domicile at the Eudenbach glider airfield . In 2004 the motor and glider flight group split off from each other. Since then, the KKfL has been a pure powered flight club.
