Koenderitz
Könderitz is a village in the Elsteraue municipality in the Burgenland district of Saxony-Anhalt . The districts of Etzoldshain , Minkwitz and Traupitz belong to the village of Könderitz .
history
The village of Könderitz was probably first mentioned in a document in the 13th century. The origin koner (= horse market) is old Slavic and means "place of horse breeders and grooms". The ending -ritz indicates Wendish origin. Könderitz is located east of the trading town Zeitz .
An earlier spelling of the place name is Könneritz . The noble family Könneritz of the same name comes from the place .
The Etzoldshain moated castle from the 14th century is located in the Etzoldshain district .
Incorporations
Minkwitz and Traupitz were incorporated on July 1, 1950.
On July 1, 2003, Könderitz was incorporated into the new municipality of Elsteraue .
Sports
Every year (usually in May) the qualification for the Südregional-Cup, a large riding and jumping tournament, takes place.
The local sports club is the SG Könderitz. Founded in 1948, the club stands for good youth work and football. The first team plays in the regional league of the Saxony-Anhalt Football Association.
