Reuden has been part of the Elsteraue community in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt since July 1, 2003 . Reuden Ostrau and Predel belong to the districts .

history

Reuden was first mentioned as Rudin in 1235 and has been known as Reuden since 1661.

The place, which was in the Saxon office of Weißenfels until 1815 , then came to the Zeitz district of the Prussian province of Saxony and in 1952 to the Zeitz district of the GDR district Halle (Saale) . In 1946 there were 1,110 residents in the village. On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Ostrau and Predel were incorporated into Reuden.

In January 2004 the development of the construction site Schwerzau, which belongs to the Profen opencast mine, began by the Mitteldeutsche Braunkohlengesellschaft mbH, which means that Reuden and the neighboring towns of Bornitz, Draschwitz and Predel will lose a large part of their field boundaries in the course of lignite mining.
