King Fahd Mosque (2015)

The King Fahd Mosque in Sarajevo is the largest mosque in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans . It was financed and built with donations and money from Saudi Arabia . In 2000, the mosque, which can accommodate more than 4000 people, was inaugurated by the Saudi prince Salman ibn Abd al-Aziz . The mosque has a religious school, an Islamic library and a gym. The mosque is named after the former Saudi king Fahd ibn Abd al-Aziz and is influenced by the conservative direction of the Wahhabis .

The planned Namazgâh Mosque in the Albanian capital Tirana is to replace the King Fahd Mosque as the largest mosque in the Balkans.
