The König River is a glacial stream on South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It flows north from Lake König to Fortuna Bay . The lake in turn is fed by the melt water from the König glacier .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2013 based on the name of the glacier of the same name. Its namesake is the Austrian mountaineer Felix König (1880-1945), participant in the Second German Antarctic Expedition (1911-1912) under the direction of Wilhelm Filchner .
