The Lake King is a lake on South Georgia in the South Atlantic . In the bosom region, it lies at the head of Fortuna Bay . It is fed by the melt water from the König glacier . Its overflow, the König River , flows into Fortuna Bay.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2013 based on the name of the glacier of the same name. Its namesake is the Austrian mountaineer Felix König (1880-1945), participant in the Second German Antarctic Expedition (1911-1912) under the direction of Wilhelm Filchner .
