Royal yellow is the name for a bright golden yellow color.

The name describes colorants that are more beautiful in color than medium ocher or medium Naples yellow and has therefore been used over time for several inorganic pigments:

These are all poisonous, or at least questionable, and the color can now be mimicked by synthetic yellows such as anthrapyrimidine , isoindolinone , benzimidiazolone or quinophthalone .
