Thaddäus Hüppi (* 1963 in Hamburg ) is a German artist. He is the son of Alfonso and Brigitta Hüppi and the brother of Johannes Hüppi .

Life

In Freiburg im Breisgau , Geneva and Berlin, he learned the building and cabinet making trade from 1980–1986. Then (1986–1991) he studied at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg with Kai Sudek and at the State University of Fine Arts - Städelschule in Frankfurt with Stephan Balkenhol and Ulrich Rückriem . Hüppi lives and works in Baden-Baden .

Works

In 1996 a group exhibition "4 Hüppi" of the parents Hüppi and their two sons took place in the Museum of New Art in Freiburg .

In 2006, Thaddäus Hüppi created a 4.60 meter high sculpture for the new motorway border crossing ( A861 ) Rheinfelden (Baden) with the title “Golem” made of colored bronze and stainless steel, which is supposed to greet visitors; With the stainless steel base, however, it also refers to one of the most important buildings that shape the city: the stylization of the mill wheel, turbine and bearing refers to the river power plant , which was the beginning of the history of Rheinfelden in Baden at the end of the 19th century.
