Kęstutis Čilinskas

Kęstutis Čilinskas (born January 8, 1946 in Šiauliai , Lithuanian SSR ; † May 20, 2011 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian lawyer , human rights activist and politician.

Life

After graduating from middle school Kęstutis Čilinskas graduated 1972 Diploma in Law at the University of Vilnius . From 1973 he worked as a lawyer. He later founded and ran his own law firm, Advokatų K. Čilinsko ir R. Čilinskaitės kontora EX JURE with his daughter. From 2007 to 2008 he was a member of the Seimas ( Tėvynės Sąjunga ) and Chancellor of the Lithuanian Government , advisor to the Committee on Human Rights in the Seimas, lecturer at the Mykolas-Romer University on legislative issues.

In addition, he was chairman of the board of the Institute for Human Rights ( Žmogaus teisių stebėjimo institutas ).

He had two daughters with his wife Irta Emilija Čilinskienė.
