Kōhei Yamashita (born September 6, 1994 in Fukushima ) is a Japanese triple jumper .

Athletic career

Kōhei Yamashita gained his first international experience at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he was eliminated from the qualification with 15.71 m . In 2018 he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time , where he finished fourth in 16.46 m. The following year he reached tenth place at the Asian Championships in Doha with 15.08 m.

In 2018 and 2019, Yamashita became the Japanese triple jump champion. His father Norifumi Yamashita was also active as a triple jumper.
