Kōji Nakajima ( Japanese 中 島 浩 司 , Nakajima Kōji ; born August 20, 1977 in Osaka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Nakajima learned to play soccer on the school team at Sendai Ikuei High School . He signed his first contract in 1996 with the Brummel Sendai (today: Vegalta Sendai). The club played in the second highest league in the country, the Japan Football League . In 2001 he was runner-up in the J2 League with the club and was promoted to the J1 League . For the club he completed 83 games. In 2001 he moved to league competitor JEF United Ichihara (today: JEF United Chiba). In 2005 and 2006 he won the J.League Cup with the club . For the club he completed 96 first division games. In 2009 he moved to league rivals Sanfrecce Hiroshima . With the club he became Japanese champions in 2012 and 2013 . For the club he completed 99 first division games. At the end of 2013, he ended his career as a football player.
