Kōta Fujimoto ( Japanese 藤 本 康 太 Fujimoto Kōta ; born April 2, 1986 in Kumamoto Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Fujimoto learned to play soccer on the school team at Kumamoto Kokufu High School . He signed his first contract with Cerezo Osaka in 2005 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . At the end of the 2006 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . In 2009 he was runner-up with the club in the J2 League and rose again to the J1 League. At the end of the 2014 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League. At the end of the 2016 season, the club rose again to the J1 League. In 2017 he won the J.League Cup and Kaiserpokal with the club . For the club, he completed 216 league games. At the end of 2019, he ended his career as a football player.
