from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

K-Rotte is a German hip-hop band that was founded in Munich in the 1990s .

history

In 1992 the then 13-year-old Cristofolo Vitti aka "HIK" began to write lyrics, influenced by the hip-hop of the early 1990s. This was accompanied by the idea of founding K-Rotte as a hip-hop band. In 1994 "HIK" met Thomas Reitmeier aka "Mk Chuck the beaver", who attended the same school. At first they used instrumental versions of various bands as the musical basis for their lyrics. In 1998 the first songs of the combo and the first demo tape "Philosophy for Beginners" were created under the name K-Rotte. In 1999, the two rappers received an offer for a performance in Munich for the first time and, before their first concert, they had a new DJ, Jochen Schlund aka "Professor Dr. Schlund".

In 2000, the first sound carrier, “ Philosophie for Beginners”, was released in the form of an EP through the agency pilot.media and their manager at the time, Tim Pidun. K-Rotte played a few concerts in Munich and the surrounding area, where the band made a name for themselves around the turn of the millennium.

The band was largely shaped by musicians such as Kinderzimmer Productions , Fettes Brot and Absolute Beginner as well as Die Fantastischen Vier .

After the EP was released, K-Rotte got the chance to produce a soundtrack for the Janosch cinema film Emil Grünbär .

In 2006, Prof. Dr. Schlund wrote the records for the band for the last time and then devoted himself to the production of electronic music . In 2007 the producer and DJ Boris Hesky aka Bonz'n Bo joined the band as a new member. The production of the CD Seven Years in Lautlos took three years. Above all, the intro of the sound carrier shows the influence of children's room productions . In 2010 the album was released on the FXL Records label.
