The kk Südöstliche Staatsbahn (SöStB) was an Austria-Hungary state railway , which was created through the nationalization of the Hungarian Central Railway (UZB).

history

The UZB, which opened on July 15, 1846, built the Pest - Waitzen , Pest - Szolnok and Marchegg - Pressburg lines . The UZB was nationalized on March 7, 1850 and from this point on it formed the kk Südostliche Staatsbahn. The Pressburg – Waitzen and Cegléd - Félegyháza - Szeged routes, which were started by the UZB, were completed by the SöStB by 1854. On January 1, 1855, the SöStB was privatized and thus became part of the State Railway Company .
