KESO is a Swiss manufacturing company for locking systems .
Keso AG (Keller & Sohn) in Richterswil was founded in 1963 by Ernst Keller (born March 4, 1930). In 1958, Keller received its first patent for improvements to the dimple lock . Keso licensed its technology to foreign companies such as Sargent in the USA or Lips in the Netherlands . As a result, the company has grown internationally since the 1960s. It also served the markets of Germany , France and Brazil and has been active worldwide since the 1990s. Ernst Keller solved the question of company succession by selling Keso to the Swedish technology group Assa Abloy in 2001 . KESO is the second largest manufacturer of locking systems in Switzerland.
The KESO keys are characterized by trough-shaped bores of different sizes instead of notches, and typically by a flat cross-section with a beveled shaft end, which results in six surfaces with bores. The lock cylinders are specially secured against attempted break-ins. The company holds several hundred patents.
