KMS Records is a Detroit techno label founded in 1987 by Kevin Saunderson . Saunderson set up a studio in his apartment after graduating. The indie label from Detroit repeatedly brought artists onto the market who quickly gained worldwide recognition in the techno scene. Saunderson himself was instrumental in the success of his Inner City group. Different genres of electronic music appear on the label. Saunderson primarily used the label to publish his own pieces under various pseudonyms such as Tronik House , Reese Projekt , E-Dancer or Esser'ay .
