KPaint is a simple drawing program for the KDE graphical user interface . The basis of the program is the canvas widget from Tcl / Tk . It has simple drawing tools, but does not allow complicated manipulation of photos. Besides BMP , GIF , JPG , PNG , KPaint can also read other formats. Certain operations such as scaling, rotating, shifting, mirroring and deforming in the sense of an inclination can be applied to several objects in a group. It is to be seen as the counterpart to Paintbrush in Windows . With KDE version 3.3, which came out in August 2004, KPaint was replaced by the new KolourPaint program .
