KRC Bambrugge is a Belgian football club from Bambrugge . The club is affiliated with the KBFV with the trunk number 5343 and has black and yellow as the club colors. The team plays its home games in the Lindekouter complex in Bambrugge, a stadium with more than 1500 standing places.
history
The club was founded on August 16, 1949 and joined the Belgian Football Association on June 24, 1950. Bambrugge then played in the provincial class. The club played there for the next few decades, but kept improving. The club played for years at the top of the 2nd provincial class. In 2009 Bambrugge became champions and was the first club from Erpe-Mere to move up to the highest provincial class. Bambrugge is currently (2012) represented in the first provincial class of the province of East Flanders.
Merger plans
There are plans to merge the four remaining Erpe-Mere clubs (SK Aaigem, KRC Bambrugge, KFC Olympic Burst and FC Mere). A new stadium would then be built on the Steenberg domain . It is hoped to be ready in 2015. However, it is certain that the merger will continue in 2016 at the earliest, because the hall in Steenberg has to be built first. The new club will continue to play in the highest provincial class with the same root number, as the remaining clubs from this region all play in lower divisions. Since all of these clubs, including the clubs that previously merged into FC Mere, had black as one of their team colors, the new team color will likely be black as well. The K of Koninklijke (Royal) and Erpe-Mere will be included in the name of the new club. The further interpretation of the name is still unknown.
