Matic Kralj (born January 15, 1983 in Ljubljana , SR Slovenia ) is a Slovenian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Coventry Blaze in the British Elite Ice Hockey League since 2011 .

Career

Matic Kralj began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HDD Olimpija Ljubljana , where he was active until 2002. For the 2002/03 season, the winger moved to the Lubbock Cotton Kings from the Central Hockey League , but ended this at Olimpija Ljubljana in the Slovenian ice hockey league . From 2003 to 2006 he ran for the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in the CHL, where he was again at the end of the season for Olimpija Ljubljana in the Slovenian ice hockey league on the ice. In the 2006/07 season he competed for the CHL participant Rocky Mountain Rage . He started the 2007/08 season at HK Slavija Ljubljana in Slovenia and finished it with Alba Volán Székesfehérvár . For the latter, he competed in both the Hungarian ice hockey league and the Austrian ice hockey league . In the 2008/09 season he played again in Slovenia, this time for HDK Stavbar Maribor .

The 2009/10 season Kralj spent with the Newcastle Vipers from the British Elite Ice Hockey League . There he was just as convincing as in the following season at HC Morzine-Avoriaz from the French Ligue Magnus . For the 2011/12 season , the former junior international returned to the EIHL and joined Coventry Blaze , for which he has played since then.

International

For Slovenia , Kralj took part in the U18 Junior World Championship in Division II 2001 and the U20 Junior World Championship in Division I in 2002 .
