On April 1, 1904, the legal predecessors of the Kurhessen-Waldeck civil servants' pension fund, founded in 1903, began their work, the "Pensionskasse for the municipal officials of the Kassel government district" and the "Widows and orphans fund for the municipal officials of the Kassel administrative district". With effect from April 1, 1956, the widows and orphans' fund for the municipal officials of the administrative district of Kassel was dissolved. From this point on, the pension fund for the municipal civil servants of the administrative district of Kassel was called "Beamtenversorgungskasse Kurhessen-Waldeck".
