Warberg concentration camp external command

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Warberg concentration camp external command was one of the Neuengamme concentration camp satellite camps . It was set up on June 5, 1944 in the town of Warberg in the Helmstedt district in Lower Saxony to build an alternative camp for the Braunschweig military concentration camp.

There were eight concentration camp prisoners in Warberg who had to convert a building from a former brewery and were housed in a barred room on site. The commando leader was SS Rottenführer Schnitzler and, in addition to SS Rottenführer Leibl, three police officers were assigned to guard the Warberg concentration camp. After the work, which was supervised by the site manager Laun, was finished in January 1945, the prisoners were probably taken to the Verden satellite camp on January 8, 1945 . Further details are not known and nothing on site reminds of this concentration camp subcamp.
