The Moringen concentration camp memorial is a memorial for victims of the Moringen concentration camp . The house is located in the center of the small town of Moringen in Lower Saxony .

Facilities

The memorial was founded in 1993 by a local civic association. Grants come from the Northeim district . It has a permanent exhibition and a comprehensive library on the subject. Films and videos on the concentration camps in Moringen can be viewed here, as can an archive for research purposes.

tasks

The memorial sees itself as a historical and political educational institution and has set itself the task of providing insight into the perspectives of prisoners and Nazi ideologues. This includes guided tours, lectures, film screenings and discussions with contemporary witnesses . Events such as an annual memorial meeting for former prisoners are also held.

The building

The house at Lange Strasse 53 and the house opposite at Lange Strasse 58 form the former Einbeck Gate. There are two two-story, three-axle buildings with a hipped roof.

attacks

In 2013 a paint attack was carried out on the former commandant building. In another attack in the same year, the lighting was destroyed and stolen.
