Kirils Ševeļovs (born June 2, 1990 in Riga ) is a Latvian football player . The defender currently plays for Skonto Riga in the Latvian Virslīga , as well as for the Latvian U-21 national team .

Career

Kirils Ševeļovs was born in Riga but grew up in Daugavpils , the second largest city in Latvia. At the age of twelve he joined the local FC Ditton Daugavpils which is now known as FC Daugava Daugavpils . At Daugava Ševeļovs made his debut at seventeen in the top Latvian league of Virslīga. With the club he won the Latvian Cup in 2008 when they beat FK Ventspils 3-0 on penalties.

In 2010, Ševeļovs moved to the Latvian record champions Skonto Riga at the beginning of the 2010 season . He made his debut for discount on the 5th game day in the away game against SK Blāzma where he was in the starting line-up, and the game was won 3-1. In the following two game days at the 7-0 shooting match against FK Jaunība Riga and the 0-0 against Liepājas Metalurgs , he also played from the start. In the rest of the season he was mainly substituted on. At the end of the season he was able to win the championship with the capital club.

In the 2011 season he came to the reigning champions on the first match day against FB Gulbene in 2005 , the game was won 2-1 against the new league in the end.

National team

The defensive player has been playing for Latvia since the U-19s, with whom he took part in qualifying for the U-19 European Football Championship 2009 in Ukraine, which was held in France. He was also used in some friendly matches of the junior national team, such as against Estonia in April 2009.

For Latvia's U-21s , Ševeļovs was invited for the first time for the friendly against Lithuania's U-21 selection in March 2011.
