KZZD belonged to Entercom Communications Corp. , one of the largest radio companies in the USA. In 2013, the group donated the station to the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council (MMTC). The MMTC would like to use the possibility of radio stations to anchor more diversity in US society. It promotes women and advises them on the design of business projects. Since then, the MMTC has been using the KZZD as a training station.
