Kaća Čelan

Kaća Čelan (also Kaca Celan ; born August 5, 1956 in Ratkovo ) is a theater scholar, writer and director living in Los Angeles .

Life

After high school, Celan studied theater studies , comparative literature and acting at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Sarajevo . She describes herself as a student of Yevgeny Vakhtangov .

In Germany, she directed the TAS Theater and the Celan Theater School at Burgau Castle near Düren .

Today Kaca Celan lives in Los Angeles .

  • 1984–1991: Director of the Teatar Amfiteatar Sarajevo
  • 1991–1992: Lecturer in directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo
  • 1993: Scholarship holder of the Heinrich-Böll-Haus Langenbroich

Awards

  • 1997: Main prize of the 1997 artist prize of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the theater literature category
