Kaštiliaš I.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kaštiliaš I (Kaštiliašu; * before 1681 BC; † after 1660 BC) was the third Kassitian king according to King List A. He ruled for 22 years and was the successor to Agum Maḫrû, his successor was Abī-Rattaš ( Synchronistic King List ) or Ušši (?) (King List A). According to the middle chronology, Kaštiliaš ruled 1681–1660. According to the middle chronology, he would be at the same time as Abi-ēšuḫ and Ammī-ditāna of Babylon , according to the short and ultra-short chronology with Šamšu-iluna .

It has been suggested to equate Kaštiliašu of Ḫana with Kaštiliaš I or II . However, there is no documentary or archaeological evidence of a Kassite presence in Ḫana.
