Cabinet Holland II
The Holland II Cabinet was formed in New Zealand on November 26, 1954 by Prime Minister Sidney Holland of the New Zealand National Party and replaced the Holland I Cabinet . It was in office until September 20, 1957, when it was replaced by the Holyoake I cabinet .
The elections on November 13, 1954 were again won by the National Party with 44.3 percent and 45 seats from the 80 seats in the House of Representatives . The New Zealand Labor Party with its top candidate Walter Nash came up with 44.1 percent, but only had 35 MPs due to the electoral system. The Social Credit Party, the third strongest force, could not have an MP despite its 11.2 percent. On September 20, 1957, Prime Minister Holland resigned almost two months before the elections and was replaced by the previous Deputy Prime Minister and Agriculture Minister Keith Holyoake .
