Michael Distate (born July 26, 1989 ) is a Belgian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Bulldogs de Liège again since 2010 and has played with the club in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League since 2015 .

Career

Michael Distate began his career with the ten-time Belgian champions Cercle des Patineurs Liègois , for whom he played in the second-rate National League . In 2006 he moved to local rivals Bulldogs de Liège in the honor division . With the exception of the 2009/10 season , when he was active at IHC Leuven and won the Belgian championship title , he has since played for the Bulldogs, with whom he won the double from the championship and cup competition in 2014, to which he made a significant contribution as the best defender in the league . Since 2015 he has played with the club in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League . In 2018 he was again Belgian cup winner with the club.

International

For Belgium, Distate took part in the U18 World Championships in 2006 and 2007 in Division II and the U-20 World Championships in 2007 in Division III and in 2008 and 2009 in Division II.

Distate played for the men's national team at the World Championships of Division II in 2008 , 2011 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 .
