Cabinet Holyoake IV

The Holyoake IV cabinet was formed in New Zealand on December 22, 1969 by Prime Minister Keith Holyoake of the New Zealand National Party and replaced the Holyoake III cabinet . It was in office until February 7, 1972, when it was replaced by the Marshall Cabinet.

In the election of November 29, 1969, the Holyoakes National Party won 45.2 percent and got 45 seats in the House of Representatives , which was enlarged to 84 seats. The opposition New Zealand Labor Party with its top candidate Norman Kirk scored 44.2 percent and now has 39 MPs. Holyoake then formed his fourth cabinet on December 22, 1969. On February 7, 1972, around nine months before the next election, Holyoake resigned as Prime Minister after more than eleven years in office and was replaced by the previous Deputy Prime Minister Jack Marshall .
