Kabouter Wesley
Kabouter Wesley (German: Wichtel Wesley ) is a Belgian series of comics and short animated films about an ill-tempered and violent pixie . The figure, conceived and drawn by Jonas Geirnaert , is extremely popular in Flanders and the Netherlands . The drawing style and content are intentionally naive and amateurish, the plot is often surreal, brutal and politically incorrect .
history
Geirnaert developed the character Kabouter Wesley during the production of the animated short film Flatlife , which won the jury award at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. The comics were published in the Belgian weekly newspaper HUMO from 2008 , the animated films in the satirical program Man Bijt Hond, broadcast by the Belgian television station Eén . Hammond organ pieces by Klaus Wunderlich were used for the background music for the animation films .
