Kachenet (II.) Was an ancient Egyptian official from the beginning of the 5th Dynasty (around 2600 BC). He is best known from his rock grave (number A2) in Hemamieh . This rock tomb is one of the earliest structures of this type from ancient Egypt in the province. In the course of the rest of the 5th Dynasty and later, rock tombs became the predominant type in the province among officials who could afford such facilities.
Kachenet (II.) Was possibly the son of Kachenet (I.) . A son named Kachenet is depicted in the latter's grave. Kachenet (II.) Carried a number of titles, including head of the palace ( ḫrp-ˁḥ ), head of the orders , head of the king 's labor jmj-r3-k3t-njswt ), head of all labor in the central provinces of Upper Egypt ( jmj -r3-k3t-nbt-m-sp3wt-ḥrj-jb-šmˁw ), chief of the royal people and chief of the phyls of Upper Egypt . He also bore the title of biological prince ( s3-njswt-n-ẖt.f ), which was removed from the decoration in his grave at a certain point in time. He is one of the very few officials with this title in the province, but he was certainly not a real prince. The title is otherwise well attested as an honorary title. Kachenet (II.) Was certainly Kachenet (II.) Was certainly the chief administrator of the Wadjit -gau. His wife was called Iufi and was known to the king , priestess of Hathor and also the birth daughter of the king . In her case, too, the latter title was removed from the representations in the grave at some point in the course of time. One son was called Rahotep and followed in the office of district administrator. Another son was named Kaires.
The rock grave of the two has an entrance in the north, which leads to a long hall, which is about 15 m long and is decorated with reliefs . In the south there is another corridor that leads to the east and west and forms a kind of exit in the west. The reliefs in the rock grave show Kachenet and his wife in front of the sacrificial table, in front of cattle and Jufi on the boat trip in the papyrus thicket .
