Kahlenberg (noble family)

The lords of the Kahlenberg were a noble family of the Kurmark Brandenburg .

The family originally owned Barnewitz, Paaren and Buschow in Havelland , Perwenitz in Glien zu Rangsdorf, Lichterfelde, Schönow and Schulzendorf near Teltow and Wilmersdorf, Görlsdorf and Quilitz in Lebus.

As one of the last representatives, the Prussian Colonel Alexander Wilhelm von Kahlenberg († July 29, 1787) died in Berlin. He was married to Anna Louise Henriette von Rottberg († March 8, 1795). Their son Alexander Wilhelm as the last male representative of the family. He was married to Louise Friederike Caroline Ernestine von Vigny . The couple had two more daughters:

  • Caroline Wilhelmine Gottliebe (born February 19, 1804)
  • Alexandrine Adolphine Theodore (born April 12, 1806)

After that, the family in the male line was extinguished.

In Siebmacher's Wappenbuch it says: " Kahlenberg natives of the Churmark Brandenburg, probably only standing on very few eyes, if not recently extinguished. ... Already mentioned in the 13th century."
