Kai Helenius (diplomat)

Kai Helenius (* 1931 ) is a Finnish diplomat .

He completed an engineering degree and then worked from 1977 to 1982 as the Finnish ambassador to Saudi Arabia in Jeddah and in the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi . From 1983 to 1986 he worked in the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1987 to 1990 he worked as Undersecretary for Development Cooperation. In 1990 he became the Finnish ambassador to Germany in Bonn . He held this office until 1996.
