Kai Lightner

Kai Lightner (born August 21, 1999 ) is a sport climber from the USA . He is successful on the rock as well as in competitions.

Career

Kai Lightner began climbing in Fayetteville in 2006 at the age of six . Just a year later he got into competitive climbing. Lightner has won the national championship nine times and has also won the Pan American Championship three times. In September 2014 he won the Youth World Championship in New Caledonia , something American climbers have not succeeded in doing since 1965. He was also able to draw attention to himself on the rock through his achievements. In 2013, Lightner climbed his first 8b + route. Two years later he managed his first climbing route in eleventh grade with Era Vella. In January 2016, he reached 6th place in the American bouldering championship.
