Kaiser Wilhelm II Monument in Aus (2017)

The Kaiser Wilhelm II memorial was erected in 1913 by German residents in Aus in southern Namibia to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the crown of German Emperor Wilhelm II .

An obelisk in the shape of a Prussian milestone was used on a pedestal. A copper plaque with the inscription “Wilhelm II 1888 - 1913” was embedded on the southwest side. The approximately 3 m high monument is located on the station premises at the former entrance to the station building. It was inaugurated on July 14, 1913.

The copper plate was later stolen and has disappeared. Today's four memorial plaques made of dark gray natural stone with engraved inscriptions were added later in 2016.
