Established in 1882 as “Hotel Bellevue”, the hotel was renamed “Kaiserhof” in 1904. During the time of National Socialism , the Gestapo and NSDAP district leadership were housed here. Until the incorporation of Borbys in 1934, the municipal boundary between Borby and Eckernförde ( Vogelsang district ) ran through the building. After the Second World War , the British occupying forces established their Baltic Club in the building . In the 1960s to 1980s, discos were operated in the former hall. There has been a nightclub in the basement since the 1970s . The operator was murdered in 2002, the building has been empty since 2003. The building is now falling into disrepair, and the owner and the city of Eckernförde are in dispute.
