Karl-Heinz Groth

Karl-Heinz Groth (born January 4, 1940 in Lunden ) is a German author and educator from Goosefeld . In 2009 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his commitment to the preservation and promotion of the Low German language . In 2000 he was awarded the Schleswig-Holstein Medal , which has now been incorporated into the Schleswig-Holstein Order of Merit .

Life

Gorch Fock School in Eckernförde

After training as a wood merchant Groth studied at teacher and taught at Helgoland and in Wyk auf Foehr . From 1982 until his retirement in 2003 he was principal at the Gorch Fock School in Eckernförde . In 2004 he revived the “ Klaus Groth Prize of the City of Heide ”.
